FAQs
What are the prerequisites for study?
We recommend that the student be at least 3 years of age or older. A trial lesson and observations are recommended to make sure our program is right for you. Parents of young students must be available to be actively present at lessons and for in home practice for Suzuki instruction. The student must have some ability to match rhythm and pitch, absolute commitment to daily home practice, and commitment to program requirements. Requirements for studio lessons and program participation will be provided by the individual instructor.
When and where to purchase an instrument?
We recommend Meyer Music for beginners. They offer a rent to own program with reasonable prices, and repairs are convenient and generally free of charge. Always talk to your teacher first before purchasing an instrument.
What if I miss a lesson?
Teacher cancelled lessons are credited. Student cancelled lessons are made up if the teacher is able to schedule another lesson, otherwise the lesson is forfeited.
What about inclement weather?
We follow the policy of Grand Rapids Public Schools.
